"TELEMONITORHEALTH". Industrial research in new technologies for health monitoring and functional capacity of patients at home and in the community.

The general aim of this project is TO CREATE A NEW SOCIAL-SANITARY TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEM that improves the prevention, control and self management of chronic diseases and the autonomy of the elderly dependent persons affected by an osteoarticular and cardiovascular disease. The system would combine in one only device a portable system of control and communication of the status of health together with a global positioning system in real time as well as a system of home automated control and detection of movements in patient's home.

Concretely, the specifics aims of this project are:

1. To control remotely indicators of the status of health and of the activities of the daily life of the elderly dependent persons affected by a disease osteoarticular or cardiovascular and send them to his doctor and informal career.
2. To gather biometric information during24 hours per day, in any place or situation.
3. To provide a daily and remote reinforcement to the elderly dependent persons on his health status and functional capacity as well as on the progresses / improvements reached by them.
4. To anticipate and to inform remotely, at any time of the day and in any place, about risky and emergency situations to the patient, professional and informal career.
5. To improve the mobility and realization of daily life activities by the patients as well as his own and his informal career social relations.
6. To enlarge the permanency of the patient at home, increasing his independence capacity.

Duration: 21 months (April 2009 to December 2010).

Role:TSB will be in charge of realizing the questionnaires of the health professionals, patients and informal career affected by cardiovascular problems and osteoarticulars to determine the needs of information, that each of these agents has. These needs will be taking into account for a management point of view as well as for the type of information that must be obtained by the system.

On the other hand, TSB will define the usability of the system from a technological point of view.
